| WSL Topsites is a web directoy which allows you to submit your weather station website to be listed. If you own a weatherstation in the Netherlands or Belgium, you can join the WSL Topsites. | |
| Do I need the Banner/Button Code? | |
| Yes! If you want to be listed with WSL Topsites and you want your stats to work and your ranking to increase you must install the banner/button code on the pages of your website. A banner/button looks like this | |
| Why does it take so long for my website to show? | |
| All website submissions are approved manually. This is to avoid problems if you submit the wrong URL or submit non weatherstation websites. I work through the process as quickly as possible and if there is a problem, will email you back on the address you supply. | |
| How does it work? | |
| Visitors to the site can view the listings and rate and review your website. The more people that visit your site, the higher your daily ranking. Your ranking is taken on the unique number of "In" hits you have generated over a given period. "In" hits are visitors of your website, who click de WSL Topsites banner on your website, to visit the WSL Topsites website. | |
| Does it matter what page I put the code on? | |
| Not really, but if you just put it on your homepage and your visitors arrive directly to another page via a bookmark, their visit will not register. Best to put it on your menu frame or on all your pages, just to be safe. | |
| Why is my ranking at Zero? | |
| If your ranking is a zero, the most common problem is because your code is not correctly inserted on your website pages. Check your unique code in the user control panel. | |
| What does it cost? | |
| The listing service is free. However, you may wish to support the running costs of the site. This can be done by donation (click on the donate button for more information): | |
| I am having trouble registering? | |
| If you are having trouble registering, please contact the administrator who will either rectify the problem, submit on your behalf, or guide you through the process. | |
| I get the following message...The word you entered does not match the image. | |
| When registering if you type the image word incorrectly or forget a field, using the "back" button will not correctly refresh the security image. Refresh and try again from scratch. | |
| When do the stats reset? | |
| The system is currently set to reset the stats once a week. | |
| Why wont the registration process accept my banner URL? | |
| I have changed the settings so that you can upload a banner of your own to 500x80 pixels. If you want to display your banner, please make sure its within these limits. | |
| Why can't I get to my Control Panel? | |
| If you have problems getting to the Control Panel, hold down the "shift" key when you click the link and this will open it in a new window. | |
| Where do I find my button code? | |
| The unique code for your button can be found in the Control Panel (See above). | |
